April was my biggest month yet in terms of scale of projects. I finished my largest sized commission and started the largest quantity project. Plus some house and pet portraits as well!

March 2021 Review
You all kept me busy in March 2021. A year after the start of the pandemic, you all are still celebrating life and milestones and dreaming of big projects, and I’m so glad you’ve asked me to play a part in capturing your lives through art! Couple Portraits
Do you paint people?
YES!
Painting people is difficult! Everything has to be exactly in the right spot and the shading and highlights need to be the right shades to make sure the likeness of the person is as accurate as possible. With a building or a pet, you can have a window or a spot off by a few inches and no one will notice, but with people… people are different.
Tiny details, like a freckle, laugh line, the way the corner of their mouths turn with a smile, are the difference between “I guess that looks like them” and “Wow, you captured them perfectly!”.
Carlton Landing Map
I was thrilled when local Graceful Blooms flower truck and local Tulsa flower subscription service reached out to me about creating some art for the business' website, social media, and merchandise for its pop up shops!
Have you heard of Carlton Landing? It’s a new developing town on Lake Eufaula south of Tulsa and east of OKC and, while I’ve not yet been, I researched the town and local activities and attractions with Graceful Blooms to find the must haves that would look best on an illustrated map.
Feb 2021 Review
February is a short month, but was full of projects in the studio!
After January’s launch of the Semi-Custom Crest Builder, I have enjoyed creating amazing custom crests for of families, anniversaries, babies, and individuals!
Watercolor Dog Portraits
Pet portraits are always a delight to paint! Perky ears and wet noses captured with paint and paper!
Full body portraits are very popular for watercolor pet portraits. It’s a great way to capture all unique markings all the way down to their toes!
5x7 portraits are great for pet portraits that you want to display on your desk or shelves where 8x10 portraits look beautiful hung on the wall.
Watercolor vs Marker vs Digital
I enjoy working with multiple mediums and hope you enjoy the art I create with all of them! Can you tell what kind of tools I used for the pieces I create? Here’s the same image done in three styles so you can see the difference. Watercolor, Copic Marker, and Digital.

There are a few things you need to consider before getting started to make sure the process is smooth, timely, and you aren’t charged for having to start over if you’re not happy with the direction of the piece.
Here’s my list of things to have in mind and answers ready to have a wonderful custom work experience!
Jan 2021 Review
Happy 2021! A new year means fresh starts and new goals…unless it’s following 2020.
To not dwell on the rocky start, I was excited to share the numerous custom watercolor illustrations I had the privilege to work on that you all gave as thoughtful Christmas presents!
Holiday Commissions 2020 - Local Favorites
Not only do people love their homes, pets, and family, but they also love their businesses and favorite local spots that hold so many memories! Honored to be asked to paint these very special pieces.
Holiday Commissions 2020 - Pets
If you were to ask our pets, they’d say 2020 was the best year. The year with the most walks, more lap time, lots of cuddles, and lots of tasty snacks because their humans were home more! I loved painting all your fur babies and even threw some cats in the mix! I am a cat owner and was embarrassed that it took me so long to get some cats painted! I’m glad I did get the chance to paint them because they turned out beautifully!
Holiday Commissions 2020 -Homes
In a year when we spent so much time at home, we still loved our abodes and you asked me to paint them! Whether it was the new memories we made making life changing adjustments or projects and redecorating done in various rooms, our homes became a place we were able to enjoy and love even more in 2020.
