January 2024 - Monthly Review
As we begin 2025, January has been an exciting (and extremely long) month! Here are some highlights of recent projects happenings.
January is the perfect time to start preparing for Valentine's Day. I often receive Christmas inquiries in December, which is unfortunately too late for custom watercolors. These projects often get pushed to Valentine’s Day. This year is no different! I have a desk full of secret watercolor projects coming to some of you on February 14. Stay tuned for peeks & later reveals of these projects on Instagram.
While Valentine delivery is not offered right now, it’s never too early to start thinking of other gifting opportunities throughout the year. Get on my schedule early, as it usually takes about 3 weeks from draft to delivery for a custom piece.
Last fall, I joined the wonderful Wed Society Oklahoma and started the planning for the Book of Weddings reveal events: one in Oklahoma City and another in Tulsa. These get togethers were full of industry professionals and highlighted the amazing talent we have in Oklahoma in the event space. I loved networking and connecting with local vendors, including artists, florists, planners, stationers, photographers, musicians, and more. This month is also the perfect time for wedding invitation design for the late spring and early summer couples. Complete with new venue illustrations, I’m continuously adding to my Licensable Art Library. A tedious redesign of the library occupied a week of my time to get the images, titles, and sizes in a cohesive format (though there’s more work to be done - as there always is with website design).
You may have seen a few more refreshes to the ol’ website including some new artist photos, background images, and gallery formats. The quiet start of the year that allows for the little housekeeping is often short lived as I quickly progress into new projects. Maybe I’ll have some down time to finally tackle the studio closet…or maybe not!
