April 2024 - Monthly Review
As I shared in March, wedding season for an invitation & signage artist is in full swing! Lots of new custom pieces are coming for summer 2025 weddings, plus save the date art for 2026 events. I’ve noticed a trend of destination weddings are coming back in full swing! This month, I made art for weddings in Florida, Central America, and Tuscany! Wow, I can only imagine the views, photos, and memories to be made at these celebrations and only wish my contribution came with an invitation (haha jk, can you imagine?). Anywho, we’ll all have to stay tuned for photos of these events to be shared.
Check your mailboxes! Tulsa People’s April issue has a beautiful section highlighting three Tulsa Weddings and two of them included art by Alexa’s Illustrations! Weddings Features are always so great to see and share the amazing work of the wedding professionals and love stories of the couples.
Summer is just around the corner and that means Lake Season for Oklahomans! Carlton Landing is a favorite around here (and in my studio). Always creating maps, (more maps), and wedding art, it was great to create even more pieces for Lakestay Vacation Rentals. We went for watercolor postcards with a “greetings from Carlton Landing” retro feel. Stay at one of their rentals to find one of three of the watercolors!
One off unique inquiries come to my inbox (or Instagram DMs) and this one was so fun! As you may remember, I created over 100 unique watercolors that were assembled into unique 3D art for the NOUN Hotel. A hotel guest fell in love and wanted one of her own!
Earlier this month, I was honored to paint live at TU Uncorked 2025! Such a fun evening sitting in the spotlight painting McFarlin Library. I wrote a blog post about it here.
Save the date for the Tulsa Artist Coalition’s annual (25th!) 5x5 sale. I have two entries as part of the fundraiser! The event will be Friday, May 2, 2025, with the pieces on display through the 14th.
